GENTLE YOGA

This  class is perfect for All Levels & Appropriate for Seniorsand offers its participants a bridge between moving in flow and staying stationary.  It is a midway, where there is equilibrium and bliss in every pose.  You stay in a pose just long enough to enjoy that you are not pushing yourself, all while equally strengthening and stretching, and increasing flexibility to repair muscles that are in need of love.  There is no hurry to finish a sequence!  It’s all about relaxing and allowing yourself and your body to spend as much time there as you want and need.  Gentle yoga keeps the atmosphere free of competition and comparison, and there is no frustration of not doing a pose, or agitation of not holding a pose…. As we all work within unity to strengthen our bodies together.


ADAPTIVE YOGA

Designed for All Levels, this class is practiced with a chair - either sitting in the chair or standing and using the chair for support.  Essentially, the chair becomes another form of a prop.  Coupled with breathing, the practice becomes adapted forms of modern yoga poses, and can help meet the unique need of individuals with different abilities.  This sequence will benefit anyone who prefers or needs to do yoga in a chair, but also those who may sit at a desk job where your muscles might become tight and rigid.  Adaptive Yoga can not only help with stress, pain and fatigue, but it can also be helpful with joint lubrication, balance, and even age-specific issues.


YIN YOGA

Yin Yoga is an All Levels class is based off the principles of Yin Yoga - an ancient Taoist concept of Yin and Yang - the opposite and complementary principles in nature working synergistically throughout the body.  With the breath as the primary component (as with most traditional yoga practices) and the use of occasional props, Similar to a Restorative yoga practice, Yin works to relax and restore healthy energy to over worked and/or over stressed bones, ligaments, muscles, tendons, joints and fascia tissue.  You will practice fewer poses in more of a passive yoga style, holding them for longer periods of time, to combine both intensity, body awareness and sensations.  In essence, this class gives its practitioner permission to slow down and take pause from everyday busyness, and realign their mind and body.


GENTLE FLOW YOGA

This class is a great fit for All Levels & Appropriate for Active Seniors (ie:  Seniors who have a consistent yoga practice, or run, golf, play tennis, walk, bike, swim, work-out, etc.) and is designed to offer a more flowing set of Gentle Yoga poses.  It does require that you have some ease and fluidity of movement and mobility, as this class takes it up a notch from our softer, slower, traditional Gentle Yoga practice, through a continuous sequence of invigorating and energetically balanced asanas to warm the body, strengthen the core, and built more endurance.


MEDITATIVE FLOW YOGA

This class is for All Levels and is designed with emphasis on improving your breath endurance and connection with the breath, as a form of active movement meditation.  Active meditation is dynamic and requires intentional breathing and determination, and focuses on moving inner energy, mind-body connection, and an understanding that your body can heal and relieve stress through breath. This class is different from a meditation practice, where you are typically seated and allow the body and mind to become quiet and still. In Active Meditation, you flow your breath through each pose in a very dynamic and energetic way, to create deeper awareness of subtle sensations within the body that are associated with or as a result of the movement of the breath.


RECUPERATIVE YOGA

This is a safe and transformational All Levels yoga class that helps to restore and maintain our body's appropriate range of motion, good alignment, optimize muscle balance, and cultivate physical awareness.  Recuperative yoga can help resolve body issues to restore strength and flexibility.  Modifications will be offered, as well as actions suggested to suit every person's needs.


GUIDED MEDITATION

This All Levels class suitable for beginners offers emotional steadiness and harmony, as well as personal transformation.  Guided meditation relaxes the entire brain, including the amygdala, which is the emotional center of the brain.  When you meditate, you enter a space of internal expansiveness, calm and joy, which has an effect on our interactions with others and the world around us.  Meditation can bring about a true personal transformation from the inside out.  And as you experience your inner storehouse of peace and security, you will naturally begin to discover aspects of yourself that were previously hidden due to stress. Please bring a blanket, pillow and/or meditation cushion with you to class.

 

BASIC FLOW YOGA

This is for All Levels & Beginners.  It is designed for students who are new to yoga, haven't practiced in awhile, or that do not practice on a regular basis.  This class focuses on poses to stretch and strengthen the legs, back, core and shoulders.  Emphasis is given to alignment and fundamentals of all basic yoga poses.  This class includes pose modifications to accommodate different levels of flexibility, and longer breath counts between poses to allow plenty of time to transition correctly and safely into each pose.  It's a great starting point to any future practice.


SUNRISE FLOW YOGA

This All Levels class is designed to awaken your senses and begin your day with an invigorating and energizing flow of poses using a gentler approach to Vinyasa (Vinyasa is typically much faster paced, and for more experienced yogis).  Sequences in this class are slower paced to help all yoga levels build a solid foundation, healthy alignment, and breath awareness within each pose.


PROGRESSIVE FLOW YOGA

This class is designed for Experienced Yogis that have a solid understanding of yoga, and have a consistent yoga practice.  It takes its practitioner to a deeper level then just the basics, and includes a progressive challenge throughout the class flow and/or sequence. Modifications will be offered or suggested, as well as increased variations of intensity.  This allows the you to deepen your practice at your own pace, and own level of flexibility, as you transition safely from pose to pose.  Some of the more challenging poses will be introduced in preparation for a more advanced practice, should you choose to take your practice further. This class in NOT recommended for those that are brand new to yoga or have never practiced before.

 

DYNAMIC FLOW YOGA

This is for Experienced Yogis that been practicing for awhile, and have completed a Basic Flow Hatha practice, as well as a Progressive Flow practice.  This class provides students an opportunity to refine their skills through a more deeper exploration of the asanas presented and how they can flow together seamlessly by means of steady paced breathing.   This class is much more challenging, and does include inversions, arm balances, headstands, shoulder stands, body binds, and more. It is recommended that you have a consistent yoga practice, and have an excellent understanding of the basic yoga poses prior to attending this much more rigorous class.


MINDFUL RESILIENCE YOGA - PRIVATE SESSIONS

Offered to in a private setting for all yoga ability levels, and specifically designed for Trauma and/or Addiction recovery. Mindful Resilience Yoga is based on the central components of the Hatha style of yoga - where participants engage in a series of physical forms and movements, breath work, and meditation.  Elements of this traditional Hatha yoga practice are modified to help foster experiences of empowerment and to cultivate a more positive relationship with one’s self, in a safe and nurturing way.  Mindful Resilience Yoga allows participants the opportunity to be in charge of themselves based on a felt sense of body awareness, shifting their focus from external experiences and appearances.  This shit in orientation is the key attribute to helping participants restore their connection of mind and body, and to create a sense of self-worth that is often compromised as a result of trauma and addiction.  When we facilitate space for self transformation, accompanied by sentiments of peace and contentment, then there is no more separation between body and mind.  Contact us for more information or to schedule a private session.  An orientation session is typically scheduled prior to providing this service.  We are also available for collaboration with Treatment Centers, Wellness Facilities and/or Organizations at their site/location, as we having been successfully serving in this capacity, as well.  (Note: This program does not claim to diagnose, prescribe, treat or cure)
