This All Levels class is a bridge between moving in flow and staying stationary. It is a midway, where there is equilibrium and bliss in every pose. You stay in a pose just long enough to enjoy that you are not pushing yourself, all while equally strengthening and stretching, and increasing flexibility to repair muscles that are in need of love. There is no hurry to finish a sequence! It’s all about relaxing and allowing yourself and your body to spend as much time there as you want and need. Gentle yoga keeps the atmosphere free of competition and comparison, and there is no frustration of not doing a pose, or agitation of not holding a pose…. As we all work within unity to strengthen our bodies together.
This All Levels class suitable for beginners offers emotional steadiness and harmony, as well as personal transformation. Guided meditation relaxes the entire brain, including the amygdala, which is the emotional center of the brain. When you meditate, you enter a space of internal expansiveness, calm and joy, which has an effect on our interactions with others and the world around us. Meditation can bring about a true personal transformation from the inside out. And as you experience your inner storehouse of peace and security, you will naturally begin to discover aspects of yourself that were previously hidden due to stress. Please bring a blanket, pillow and/or meditation cushion with you to class.
This is a Beginner Level class for students who are new to yoga, haven't practiced in awhile, or that do not practice regularly. This class focuses on poses to stretch and strengthen the legs, back, core and shoulders. Emphasis is given to alignment and fundamentals of all basic yoga poses. This class includes pose modifications to accomodate different levels of flexibility, and longer breath counts between poses to allow plenty of time to transition correctly and safely into each pose.
SLOW FLOW HATHA
This Introduction to Intermediate Level class that is designed to slow down your flow, which can be extremely rewarding since it allows you to become more aware of your body and your breath as you take your time with transitions and hold poses for longer periods of time. Participants will be able to fully let go and be able to explore a deeper practice and experience much greater benefits within each pose.
This is a Intermediate Level class that provides the student with the underlying basics of how a vinyasa practice works, while incorporating the more familiar components of a Hatha practice. Vinyasa is a method of practicing asana (physical poses), where the asanas are presented in a sequence, flowing from one pose to the next. The practice focuses on aligning one's breath wih movement. Hatha Flow classes provide students an opportunity to refine their skills through a more deeper exploration of the asanas presented and how they can flow together seamlessly by means of steady paced breathing.
This Intermediate Level style of yoga is sometimes also called flow yoga, because of the smooth way that the poses run together and become like a dance. The breath becomes an important component as you move from one pose to the next on an inhale or an exhale, and offers much diversity to the practitioner. Due to the nature of this faster moving style class, it is recommended that you are familiar with the basic fundamentals of a yoga and have a consistent yoga practice before participating, as poses in this class will be much more challenging.
POWER FLOW VINYASA
This Introduction to Advanced Level class is designed for those who have a consistent yoga practice and enjoy a flowing, strength building and challenging yoga practice. Its recommended you have a good understanding of poses and have steadiness and ease of movement while transitioning through them. These classes are challenging, rigorous, energy focused, detoxifying and empowering.
CORE POWER HATHA
This Introduction to Advanced Level class will fire up your core strength while flowing through a sequence of poses designed for the more experienced to advanced yogi. Each class will include abdominal work 30 minutes before you begin your practice, followed by 30 minutes of challenging core-infused yoga, allowing your body to stretch deeper, and release and eliminate harmful toxins.
