Betsy Morris - RYT 200 Yoga Instructor discovered yoga as a fitness option in 2003, adding it to her practices of running, kickboxing, and light weight training, and practicing at various gym locations in San Antonio. Multiple surgeries over an 18 month period (for breast cancer and a broken leg) forced not only a break in regular practice from 2010-2012, but a complete change in what exercises she was able to do. The physical experience of not being able to do what she was used to doing and a divorce led her down the path of experiencing yoga not only as a work out, but primarily as a work IN. While the transformation of yoga from a purely physical practice to one uniting body, mind, and spirit began at the gym, it led her to Total Harmony Yoga, a studio that truly reflects this union. Betsy will tell you that yoga has been the journey back to herself, and priceless for that reason alone. Betsy has a BA in Psychology and a Masters in Social Work, and worked in Child Protective Services and foster care prior to having children. She is currently focused on raising 3 teenagers, a daughter and two sons, and working on figuring out what comes next. With a focus on using yoga to transform each of us from the inside out, as well as personal experience of adapting yoga practice for those who have experienced breast cancer, Betsy would love to support you in discovering your own yoga journey and where it will lead you.
